Shuttle's AK31 v3.1 comes with a little fan mounted on the northbridge. It's kinda loud, and I was thinking about slapping a blueorb on it instead. Will added cooling on the northbridge help performance? Any1 out there tried anything like this. I think I'll have to glue/ASII the blorb in place cuz I'm pretty sure there are no mounting holes in the PCB.

extra cooling may help when ou are trying to reach higher fsb speeds but a blue orb is not the best idea. i would replace the fan you have now and leave the heatsink or put a small cpu heatsink on it instead

It will have Push Pin holes and I wouodn't bother, just re-apply it with AS2 like I did on my 8KHA+, it syats dead cool even @ 180FSB!!!
With stock cooling people have got 224FSB!!!! With the 3/4 Ram Divider in the BETA Bios...so cooling isn't an issue!

Sorry, a blorb won't fit. See that little capacitor right next to the northbridge? My only question is, WHAT WILL FIT????
