Thinking about putting some small copper heatsinks on my GeForce2 Ti's memory chips. I already have a Blorb on the GPU. Should that help me to OC the vid card any higher, in theory?

ok, I just put on 4 aluminum heatsinks from ratshack, and used ASII. Will test out and start OC'ing my video card in the next few days. re: just reformatted and did a clean install of Win 2k pro. Now I have to install my benchmarks and games.
If Chem1 and Chem2 still serve me, aluminum should be a better material than copper for getting rid of heat in a situation where there isn't a fan blowing air directly on the metal of the Heatsink, correct? My reasoning is that copper conudcts/holds heat very well, while aluminum is not as conductive, but transfers heat very well. So in a situation with little or no direct airflow (such as vid memory heatsinks) aluminum will continuosly dissapte a small amount of heat, while copper will draw a large amount of heat away, but dissapte it much more slowly. ? I think.

Yup, and if there anodized black it's a tiny bit better as well. Darker colors radiate heat faster. (tho probably not noticable) Mounting a small fan blowing through the fins would be your best bet.
Or you can get a PCI Exhaust blower it really helps..
It blows cool air into the blorb to suck and to your ramsinks.
Or you can have a side case fan blowing directly in on them.:)

1 front, 1 rear, 2 side (PCI area) -80mm case fans on my Black Ice case from Nikao. Enermax PSU has 2 fans. Volcano 7, Blorb,
<sings tune from 12 days of Christmas> & a little fan on my northbridge
Arkaime23 - You are correct about copper & aluminum. The idea is to use a copper base to absorb the heat & have the aliminum fins/pins dissipate it just like the two best CPU HSFs available, the ALPHA PAL 8045 & SWIFTECH MCX462:beer:

CoolingGears.com has a really good deal on a 2coolplus for $10
I used to use one before I had a side blowhole, they cool down the AGP and pci card area very nicely.

These 2coolplus units work best if you have a front and exit air scenario in your case.....But everyone at this site has that right?
