CRAP! After watching prices fall, after chasing down a RETAIL 8500 and finally ordering, it arrives dead. Apart from the cute fan on the heatsink it's a no go. Won't initialize, won't output any signal to the monitor, nuthin. CRAP! So, get on the phone long distance to ATI, sit on hold for 25 minutes, get a blank look on the phone from the "tech", get forwarded to some other "supertech", get another blank look, trust me you can hear a blank look on the phone, and get sent to their warrenty site to have a card sent to me to replace this one. NOT FUN! I wanted to see Max Payne in gorgeous 3-D! So now I get to wait. And wonder. Will the one they send me be any livelier???

HEHE Hey Funny,

ghengisjam, could go in a coma for 35 months and still have plenty of time to RMA that card back to ATI/

Being that retail Radeon 8500's have a 3 year warranty

:burn:

I think he means the store where you bought it. It'll be faster to return there, then to go with ATi's warranty.

hey ghengis which card was it? I picked up a 7200 today, but looked at a couple different 8500 cards. Wide pricing reflects a variety of features available, couple brands. Did you get ATi all in wonder pro, or just the 8500 basic model, or what?
