i know its been done many time with usb and software to create the riad array but has any one ever tried with somthing like these ?

in theory you could get say 2 of these and a couple of 4 gig flashs cards for under £100 and them up as you would normally.
quesion is are cf cards going to give enough transfer speed ? or would i need 4+drives
it looks like it would be a cool experiment but i dont think it would work too well but imagine being able to install winxp onto a cf card and then taking it too different computers (such as in a School (like ITT) where they give you a removeable hdd to take to different computers and store your files
and i think if you get a couple of those you could set them up in raid! or use them as a cheap alternative for some folding rigs

An important consideration will be the access speed of the flash memory cards used in this experiment. Some of the lower cost units are likely to be very very slow. High speed cards on the other hand could be interesting.

I think for the same price, 2x36gb raptors in raid, will do a better job.

get 6 of those high speed ones in a nice raid 10 and you will be screaming.
