Or 2900XT Crossfire vs 8800GTS SLI? They cost should be the closet that way.
i was planning on getting a 8800gtx, but since the release of the 2900xt, i cant believe ati's card has a higher memory interface 512bit vs 384 and stream processors 320 vs nvidia's 128!!. clearly on paper the ati card looks better off for dx10. i think once ati gets better drivers off, the 2900 is a better choice for dx10, that is until nvidia releases their 9000series

Comparing the numbers like that is apples to oranges because the architectures are different. For example, NVs stream processors can each do more operations per clock not to mention they run at much higher speeds. The R600 also uses the stream processors for AA :( whereas the NV uses the ROP backends in a more traditional manner which is why ATi tends to fall further behind with AA. Don't get over obsessed with one particular number, it's the whole package that matters.
