Radeon LE or Visiontek GTS-V Xtasy 5632

As an upgrade for an old system, which one is better/faster? They can be had for about the same $.

I recently went through the whole LE VE 7000, 7500 etc stuff with the Radeon- I ended up getting a 7000 for $70 at a trade show. Apparently the VE is to be avoided, and there seems to be confusion about LE being a 7000 but, I think the latest 7000 do not have the LE designation. The 7000 has 32mb DDR and runs nice out of the box on my system. The 7500 is 64mb SDR which was $10 more but didn't really seem faster, just more. so... I would check out the tread by Funny Person on Video Card Purchasing Advice.:beer:

The 7500 is faster than the 7000 no contest there. Also much higher overclocking potentail with the 7500.

For the $10 difference the 7500 would have been a much better purchase than a 7000.

Im sorry, I mistyped the 7000 (32 meg DDR) was $70, the 7200 (64 meg DDR) was $80 and the 7500 (64 meg DDR) was $140. I realize that the 7000 does not have the T&L feature (Charizma Engine- Is that the "Ronald Reagan Feature" of Video Cards?) and while that is great stuff and I am forward thinking and stuff, I decided to go with DDR instead of SDR on the 7200. Plus I think it will be more than enough for a good long time. You are right though- If it had only been $10 more, the 7500 would be sitting in my system right now!
