Is anyone as excited about this game as I am? Square pushed up the release date to Dec. 18...merry christmas to me! :)
I played the demo of FFX and I was totally blown away!

Yes I am very excited as well. I have been waiting for this game for a year now and finally its comming. So much for playing GTA3 for a while. :)

I've never really been terribly impressed w/ any Final Fantasy game. Yeah, they're cool and all, but when you use the same basic story line for 10 games, it gets kinda old. FFVII and FFIX stood out a bit, but not much. I guess I'll just stick w/ Chrono Cross for now.
Same story line? I guess in the broadest possible sense. But it's the same with every role playing game out there.
1. Hero starts on a minor quest for something or another
2. Hero finds his part in a greater plan
3. Hero saves the world.
Tell me a roleplaying game that truly differs from this formula and succeeds.

I've only played FF7 and Chrono Trigger (drools).

Hey PCgirl, I would say that I am just about, if not more excited about this game. I played Final Fantasy VIII about 6 times allready, and I hear that FF X is supposed to be even better. The only thing that sucks is that here in Canada it will be released a little later. So if you get it on the 18th, PM me and let me know how it is.

I probably won't be getting it until after xmas, even though I want it right now. But I'll let you know how it is! :D

I just got it yesterday and its awesome. I love it already and I only played it for 2 hours. The leveling up system is gunna take a bit to get used to but other then that I like it a lot.

Actually I should hopefully get a copy tomorrow. They are supposed arrive at Electronic Boutique tomorrow. I should be able to tell you about it tomorrow.

Well, I got my copy today , and just started playing it to get the feel of it. I have just one word to say about this game......Awesome!!!!! Unfortuneately I have to work 36hrs in the next three days, so I wont be able to play it much until next week. PCgirl...Dont miss out on this game. You will love it.

My roomate got his copy 2 days ago... get it! buy it! play it! This is the best game in the series. I haven't been sleeping because of this game. It rules!!!

Right now it is not scheduled to be out for PC at all. In the future that could change. I would buy a PS2. There are a lot of other games to make it worthwhile, but you will find that this one game alone is worth it!!!

I remember buying my PS1 just so I could play Chrono Cross (which my x-gf introduced me to). Now THAT is a great RPG.

I had to buy the PS 1 when FFVII came out. I remember being soooo steamed that it wasn't coming out on the N64. On the plus side, being on the PS 1 let me see some pretty amazing games. FF7, 9, Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, Lunar 2, Xenogears, Vagrant story.

I have not stopped playing it since I got it. Between work, I am up to 28hrs into the game. Storyline is excellent, and the game is awesome!!!:D :D :D :D

You definitely have to have a memory card!
My roommate beat it after 60+ hours.
Either he was leveled up WAY more than he should have been, or the bosses were far too weak. At one point, with Tidus, he deal one of the final bosses 99999 damage. Yeah, full quint nines. More than the max damage.

Well, it's loaned out right now. I told him I thought it sucked and he lives 2 hrs away, so no telling when I'll get it back.
