What do you guys use to accuratly measure your temperatures inside your case. For ambient and cpu temps and anything else. For the cpu do you just use the sensor that is on the motherboard already? or do you use something else. Thanks for your time

Panda,
I use a digital Doc,
The absolute cheapest place to buy one is Here for 48.99 (http://www.abilitywholesale.com/product.asp?0=231&1=283&3=167) (The picture they show is the DigitalDoc 3 but they sell the 5 which has a orange/red display, not green as displayed)
Here is a trick I learned although it takes a little work.
I take one of the Bulb probes and drill a hole directly under the Cpu die(IN THE HEATSINK), then I insert the digital doc bulb probe and then I mix up some arctic silver adhesive and put it in a syringe, i then inject the adhesive into the hole and seal it up completly. The probe is never coming out and produces very good readings.
Most people jusy use the Digital doc's flat probes and place it on the heatsink next to the die, both methods are good but I like to do things the hard way ;)

the hard way is really only the best way to go... but i have learned when cutting holes you should deffinatly measure at least once... haha. one question though, when you drill your hole (or groove) you do it on the back of the processor int he middle of the gold pins? sounding like a dangerouse thing to do i felt i should make sure before i broke out the dremmel :)

Not sure if I understand the question?
I only drill into the heatsink using a fine cutting dremel bit using a Drill press I fabricated for the dremmel. I put the dremel at its fast speed and cut straight into the heatsinks side with the heatsink firmly attached with a clamp.
I have experimented with cutting channels similiar to what Leadtek does with thier TDH or in thier vextored air HSF's but I found that embedding the probe produces better results as the probe is not exposed to any ambient air or airflow from any fans that may manipulate the readout.

when you said "under the cpu die" i was under the impression you were drilling in the back of the processor not the heatsink, so you managed to clear up my confusion. To be honest i wasnt sure if drilling into the back of the cpu was safe or would be all taht accurate, but it makes perfect sense now taht i know its the HS in question. It does sound like a really good idea and i think i should have to try it as soon as i get my new mobo and digidoc thanks mate

I edired my original post to clarify what Im drilling
LoL It would take some 'chutzpa' to drill under the cpu's die :p
Before you start drilling into your HSF read what Silversinksam carefully. He made a drill press. You can't just free hand it or you might ruin your HSF. Personally, I think its best to use a higher quality drill press than a dremel, but I guess it worked Silver :)
