Ok guys.... Not sure if some of you remember. I had a k6-2 500@660 (5.5*120FSB) which apparently is really really good (yeah!). But then i foolishly tried to jump it up to 720 without taking too many trial steps inbetween... and soon .. well a sad story to say the least....

So I got a new K6-2 550 because I am too cheap to buy anything faster (i already have two other comps.. i dont need a better one). But... I already have the 550@605 (5.5*110), which really was pretty easy.... but just to let you guys know... i'm going to see if i can hit the 720 mark (although i might as well ask for the winning lotto tix at the same time)

.... I'll just be sure not to jump the VIO so high this time... Wish me luck!

how much are they? btw I think a 1.4 tbird is 104 shipped.

well i got the k62 for 40 bucks shipped and i got this off pricewatch

"169 - Duron 1.1GHz with cpu, fan" and its probably not a good mobo either.

so...like i said ealier.. I have two pentiums 733@~933 and an 866@1100 so even if the duron would kick my pentiums ass... get a higher overclock.. its not needed.

true, true the durons are a great deal IMHO.

Tiger Direct has K6-2+ 450's for sale for $35.00. These are superior to the standard K6-2, and are better overclockers. You have to be sure your board can run it. 600 mhz would be no problem, not sure about faster than that.

here`s a little tip i was told about these procs
he said it is possble that the l bridges are under the gold
coloured plate (same side as the pins) but hes never
pried oneoff of a dead cpu.
any owners of adead k-62 willing to perform surgery
