View Full Version : gigabyte dq6 cpu block question

Taking a look at this board. I notice that there is a massive heatpipe on this board, on the back the bracket holding the heat pipe in place concerns me. Will a cpu block still be able to be attached to this motherboard.

I seriously doubt it could co-exist on a board with anything that needs any sort of back plate.... And off the top of my head, I can think of a bunch of the more high end air cooling units that might have quite a bit of trouble with that board.
It looks to me like an Apogee Gt or a Fuzion (just to name a couple) would work fine. The CPU area has the standard 4 hole mounting setup.

The only problem i saw was the heatpipe bracket taking up 2 of screw holes from the cpu. I'll contact gigabyte about it.
I see four empty holes on those Newegg pics.
