A Israel community website NGOHQ has been tweaking nVidia's drivers to use with all GeForce based cards and nVidia isn't happy about it. They've sent them nastly letters telling them stop it and the site fought back saying "This isn't America and there's not 1 of your laws says we can't do it.
Now I don't understand there's Guru's remixed sets and they haven't been in trouble weird.

Interesting... Nvidias in a fix, thats for sure.
Not surprised Nvidia is ****ed. They want people to buy new hardware, thats why they remove the support for older cards. It is interesting that they would only complain about an Israel company doing it though. May be some underlying reason we dont know about.

Hmmm...good point. Why wouldn't they go after Omega or something as well? Well...Omega doesnt ADD support for older cards (atleast not on the ATI versions).
This has happened before to NGOHQ, I still remember the last time they said with modified drivers they were "confusing customers"...
They weren't successful at that time, they won't be now I guess.
Personally I am using NGOHQ drivers and they give a great boost in image quality at the same performance. NVIDIA should pay these guys instead of threaten them..

Becasue they already did long time ago. Omega stopped doing forceware drivers long time ago.

Not to neccasarily bash on them but www.theinquirer.net in my opinion has not always been the most accurate or fact checking source.
There have been stories posted there that were based merely on rumors, but they are posted as facts.
Until several other sites can be quoted. I wont neccasarily believe it.
But I do think Nvidia could potentially be upset about what they are doing, which may be different from what other groups are doing.
I havent looked at what the one group is doing but they could be messing with stuff like who made it, and not giving nvidia credit, or not properly stating its been changed or something, i dont know.

NGO's English is kinda bad in his post over on their site. But he gets his point across I guess. Nvidia was dumb to even mention trying to enforce US laws on another country. Its called sovereignty. Maybe nVidia needs a lesson? lol

I'm sure it's not a rumor. When installing their latest drivers, they even notify you themselves about Nvidia making pressure and trying to take down NGOHQ.

Not long ago Nvidia DID go after Omega. It was quite a deal but Omega worked it out legally and we are getting the good drivers still.
