I think many (all?) of the current Conroe's are getting replaced. They will be adding a E4500 and a E2180 and probaly lowering all the current Allendale's prices one bracket. A E2140 for $64ish.

those are the 1KU prices. As in that is the price directly from INTEL selling to a retail store per thousand.

A retail store will be about 30 bucks higher.

Prices are correct to OEMs, retailers would be $30-40 higher.

This may be a dumb question but is the Q6700 the same as the QX6700? The reason I ask is b/c the QX6700 has an unlocked multiplier which is only on the X's. If they removed the X maybe they will lock the multiplier??

yes, anything un-extreme has a locked multiplier.

upwards that is, unlocked downwards.

As I understand these prices are what the distributors are to sell at in lots of 1000. Distributors will give big sites better deals because they will end up buying more than 1000. Prices will be close to these soon. Look at the April 22 price cuts,

I bought a E6600 for $230 days before April 22. It's not hard to find most of these CPUs withing $5 of HKEPC's listed price.

So the QX's are all staying at $900+?
