View Full Version : I need maximum air cooling!
So far i have my eyes set on either an ND1, or an acellero with memory heatsink. Not made up my mind which will work better.
Opinions? Better options?

by the looks of that water block I would swear it is from a kingwin aquastar as-3000!
it looks exactly the same and uses those screw on 1/4 inch tubes

Acellero S1: Directron Price $22.00!!! (http://www.directron.com/accels1.html)
I have this on my 7900GS running at 685 GPU/800 RAM, and even in a room with no air conditioning it, it has never gone above 55C. Not bad for air, and you will not risk leaks. :)
Darn, and I paid 35 dollars for my S1, and now it's only 22 bucks. :(
Good luck with whatever you choose,

Purchase a box fan and place directly next to computer. Remove side panel. Turn on!
I recommend first replacing the TIM with anything other than what it came with. My 7800gt was overheating in my room before but I removed the thermal paste and added arctic silver ceramique and temps dropped 5+ C idle and load.

hmm, that $40 water cooling keeps your card at 51C max? wow, I have the same card (evga 7900GS) and the stock cooling only keeps it at 54-55C idle and it gets up around 65-67C with heavy load. I may try that out...I have it OC'd a little, but not too much yet.

Yeah, it seems like blowing hot air and dust around won't solve much. It may work if your house is cold, but I think most people wouldn't see a big difference.

Huh, that sucks.
I suppose you are still stuck with ambient air anyways....

that new tt cooler doesn't look bad and none of the zalmans I have seen are bad at all.... with my oc on my gpu I idle at 31c and barely go over 40c with a hefty load on it. And all this is also in a room that is hardly ever cool...
