It might. Just get an old pentium or 486 heatsink for it. You could also try a Blue ORB or Crystal ORB. Your other problem might be your CPU is starting to overheat also. You also might be getting the PCI and RAM speed to high.
I cant seem to find the article ffrom the MainPage but they put a peltier on the northbridge & got more FSB gains.

I think AntManMike is correct.
Anything over 158 my Kingmax ram starts flaking out.
(Thats with 1 chip at cas3....)
If I turn the ram speed down to a PC100 base, I can get
a little higher, but around 164fsb, my IBM GXP harddrive
will have a spasm, then I get to enjoy re-installing the OS
and everything else.
If you are running stable at 158, that is pretty good....
If you gots an extra fan you want to put on the northbridge,
it sure wouldnt hurt anything, but dont expect anything
incredible to happen.....:eh?:

cooling hte northbridge will usually allow 1 of 2 things, more stability or a few more mhx FSB, either way its a definate plus, id use a crystal orb
