I upped the Duron to 138 FSB and instead of posting it just beeped like there was no vid card... what the hell?...
pushed Reset... started regularly w/ 100x8 as it always on ASUS mobos when u fail to boot it restarts w/ defualt multi and 100MHz FSB... What could be the problem? though the mem is a generic (GST) it runs 136 FSB w/ cas 2 I was trying to boot it w/ cas 3 what could I do?

I can't up the Vcore... my temps are in the safe range... My comp doesn't post w/ higher Vcore than 1.75V I dunno, why. I'm thinking of modding the L7 to get the default Vcore upto 1.85...
my computer loads windoze @ 137FSB but is not stable at all... Rock stable at 136 though and its all w/ 1.75Vcore
When I'm trying to boot 138 @ 1.75 it beeps like there is no video.
but when I'm trying to boot 138 (or anything else for that matter) @ 1.8 or 1.85 the computer doesn't even beep, its just plays dead!

I would say you exceeded the speed at which that duron will function. My 750 won't post at 138 either. 133 is tops, but hey that is still a significant overclock!!!

ya it sounds like you just took it too fast, try lowering the mltiplier and try 138 again.

Well I've got a Morgan Duron 1Ghz @1.2 Ghz (9x133), Vcore @1.7(that's .05 volts under stock)............been running it for 2 days at this set up...............I've had this Duron upto 140FSB and that's as far as it will go ...................just remember that duron is designed for only 100FSB ................so just being able to run at 133 is doin good ...................
Oh by the way did ya ever count the beeping error code when ya booted up at 138 ........................it will tell ya what was out of spec .................maybe it was yer memory that can't handle the 138 FSB....................yer MoBo manual should have the beep codes in it or go to Asus and look for them

Just did that and it booted OK w/ the 138x7, I didn't try to go any higher though...

if the x was at 8 and 138 was a noi go, and you lowered it to 7 and it boote3d, now, try 7.5 and 138. But if 7 works just stay there and increase the FSB till it craps out again. that might be your max

Have you tried running the chip @ default with the core @ 1.85v? If the comp still "plays dead" then I would try default @ 1.85v with a different psu you never know...

I dunno... Maybe I'll try that... don't want to mess with all this dunno if the extra couple of MHz will be worth all this. I'll try upping the default Vcore to 1.85 and see what happens.. if nothing, then I'll still be pretty happy cause I broke the Ghz barear...
