A lapping ?

Ok yesterday I ordered Arctic Silver II and a new Blorb. Lastnight I took off the heatsink from my Geforce 2 and started lapping the GPU. The part where it use to say Nvidia is gone but smooth. I was wondering how far down to take it. Do I leave the black paint and just get it smooth or do I take it down to where I see metal or silver which ever the case maybe.

the black around the silverish heat plate should not be sanded., I did because i am experimental. Sand it down to a mirror finish, but dont go below where the black sides started. If you go too low youll hit the core and there goes your geforce.

Ok cool I'll leave it as is. As of right now it`s nice and smooth plus I don't want to throw away another video card.

Make sure it s mirror finish, also dont forget to lap RAMSINKS and reapply thermal adhesive to them as well.

Wait how do I get a mirror finish on something I have to leave the paint on it.
