Installed a Scythe Ninja in Jan. Got these temps E6400 @ 3.2. @ 1.37v using coretemp, idle - 44c, running a orthos cpu stress test 59c
finally got around to reseating my heatsink, didnt check my temps ahead to compare but I'm now idling at 50c cpu stress of 63c. I'm in ohio and the computer sits on a non carpeted floor that stays chilly in the winter so that could make for a few degrees but 50c seems to hot to me.
For some wierd stuff, I had to run 1.36v when I first OC'd it to be stable, to try and lower temps I've been bumping down all day and its stable at 1.30, CPU-Z says I'm at 1.296. I guess it needed a burn in or my voltage is not reading correctly, is CPU-Z a good way to verify or should I try something else because going from 1.36 to 1.30 has not changed the temperature at all.
Any ideas? I havent lapped this heatsink but it does seem to be on there pretty good. The reason I decided to reseat it was, in the winter I didnt bother to pull the mobo to put it on, real PITA. I just now decided to finally pull it and properly put it on.
