View Full Version : Replaced Enermax with Sparkle and HUGE temp increase!
yikes- I have an epox 8kha+ and an XP1900 @ 1782 (162x11) and my Dual Fan Enermax 431W was giving me too low a 5v numbers so I replaced with a Sparkle 400W and adjusted the pots and when I connected everything my cpu temps rose 4C. At full load before I was at 38-39C now I am at 42-43C.
I cant believe it could have that much of a difference- time to add that blowhole I have long been talking about :)

Heh.........them Enermax Duel fan PS's are like rate at 50 or 60 cfm, So when ya went to a sparkle with a single fan ya lost a lot of air power............
that ****es me off so much :)
I only ditched my enermax b/c it had no pots I could not adjust the 5v and I am no engineer so I wasnt about to starting fooling around in there for obvious reasons. I loved that enermax- the guy that bought it off me for $63 got a damn good deal.
Now I need to work on getting back that 4c!

maybe just try to tke the PS out and add a 60mm in it, like in the top, that way you dont have to actually, cut the case.
Also maybe add one 60mm to the back of the PS (rear of case) jsut ot suck out, that should help

You can also open up that psu and replace that fan with a higher cfm fan. I've done that on several psu's with no problems. Just be careful in there; some of those goodies in the psu can pack a wallop.
