Can installing an older version work ?
Nope, it won't let me do it. Says it detected a newer version.

have you tried going back to an older version by using "add/remove programs" found in the control panel and then running windows update to install a different version?
I'm in XP and it does not give me the option.

The first thing I would check is this...under "Tools" | "Internet Options" | "Privacy" tab | "Advanced" button | "Override Automatic Cookie Handling" is checked, under "First-party Cookies"..."Accept" is selected, under "Third-party Cookies"..."Accept" is selected, and "Always allow session cookies" is checked. Next, you might want to check out the following MSKB articles...you might find something of value in one or more of them:

This behavior can occur if InternetBOOST '99 is installed and the settings are incorrect or the installation is damaged.

Another thing you could try is this...under the "Security" tab in "Internet Options" | "Internet Zone" | "Custom Level" button | make sure "Allow META REFRESH" is enabled.
...or this: Try to clear the DNS Cache, open a Command Prompt window and type the following command:
ipconfig /flushdns
Here is how I took care of the cookie problem with Overclockers. The forum site is:

And this needs to be OK'd as the following link suggests:

Try the Add/Uninstall program in your control panel but instead of reinstalling choose to repair IE. Also play with those priviacy--cookie settings.
