Ahh being this is my first build I ordered wrong.

My motherboard states on NewEgg:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128034
Number of Memory Slots 4×240pin
Memory Standard DDR2 800
Maximum Memory Supported 16GB
Dual Channel Supported Yes

So I ordered
OCZ Gold 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16820227124
Capacity 2GB (2 x 1GB)
Speed DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Cas Latency 5
Timing 5-5-5-12
Voltage 2.1V

Asked around soem forums to make sure everything would work and everyone said yes.

...Well I go to the Gigabytes website and find the manual / website for the MOBO and the listed voltage for the memory is 1.8v

So I'm screwed. Now I have to order new RAM at 1.8v and RMA the other.

I'm thinking either:

WINTEC AMPX 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820161030

OR

mushkin 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model 996527
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146118

Can anyone please help with out? This is really frustrating lol

I don't believe you ordered wrong.

If you put the items together and it posts, you can go into the bios and up the voltage and timings to what it should be and it'll be fine. It's just stating that the norm voltage that it will use is 1.8V.

They should still post at 5-5-5-15 at 1.8V which is stock.

Hmm I think I'm just going to return it (NewEgg said no restocking fee) and order one of the 1.8v listed above.

The reviews on that OCZ say it wont work properly at 1.8v

Alright if you guys say so I'll try them. So in BIOS I would change it to 5-5-5-12 at 2.1

*On a side note I really need to stop drinking Rockstar... I'm jumping off the wall over here LOL

not a problem. i have the ocz rev 2 ram in the
p35-ds3r (which also has the 1.8v spec in the
manual) and am running without any problems -
even without upping the voltage for it.

Yup yup... my ram's standard is 2.2v... my motherboard set it to 1.9v, so, all I did was bump it up to 2.2. Easy stuff, no worries, it'll work just fine.

Ha, don't worry about it, my RAM was running fine at 1.8 even though it said 2.0V to 2.1V. I lowered the latency though and bumped voltage to 1.95V
