In another thread I asked What mouse was Better the Intel Explorer 3.0 or the Logitech Dual optical for gaming... Everyone responded with the RAZOR Bloomslang. As we all know the boomslang came out with the 2000dpi before any other mouse company. But as optical mice are more technically advanced and aqurate, how can a microsoft mouse which can read your movement almost 6000 images a second, be in second place? The question is asked how can an optical mouse be beated by a ball? If the resoultion is set to over 1240 the logitech comes in with its amazing speed at 800 cpi. Anyways I have a Dam Boomslang it was leet for a while.. Now the dam left button doesnt work right. I wanted to know who had an optical mouse and what was there reactions to this new technology. If anyone knows how to fix the Awesome Boomslang 2000 which I am used too, I would gladly ask for help. I just dont see how people can argue with a mouse that u can use on your face..Then if you combine it with a decent pad. i just dont know what would happen..:eh?:

Well, to be honest. Opticals have never been as good as the Razer in my book. And I own both. My MS Intelli explorer (optical), a Razer 2000, and several friends with logitechs.

Optical Technology, IMO, needs some more work.
I accelerate fast with my mouse, especially in games. This confuses and 'jams' most optical mice (I have asked other people to try, some claim theirs does not but no optical mouse I have personally used doesn't do this with me)
I pick up my mouse a lot - and I use big mouse pads so don't give that solution (Rat Pad & a FunC Surface 1030) - optical mice have a wierd 'pick up movement off the surface' when you just pick them up (causing the mouse to back-trail often, specially annoying in online real time games) and then to not pick up some of the initial movement when you set it back down. Some mice are much better about it then this, but since the Razer uses a ball - it moves with the physical ball - much more predictable.

As for fixing the razer, heh. I had my scroll button go bad, I just opened the sucker up, found the problem (a bad clip) and fixed it. Probably voided my warrenty but shh! you don't know that! :D

The left button went bad on mine, too. I just carefully bent the button back to it's original position. Works like a charm.

I hate my Optical intellimouse. Very jerky when looking left to right real fast. The Razer is smooth as butter.

Also, Razer is coming back! Get ready for new mice...woohoo!!!!!!!
