I remember getting one for my aunt a long time ago (802.11b) but where are there g routers. Why did they get out of the market?

Maybe it couldnt compete against netgear and the other brands.

The MN-700 is the Microsoft 802.11g router. I have an old MN-500 that is no longer in use (that I'm assuming is what your aunt has - 802.11b).
