Hi all. I'm running a new G0 Q6600 and monitoring the temps with CoreTemp. Everything seems fine except that the 4 cores are running different temps...by that I mean 2 cores are running at ~52C and 2 are running ~46 under load.

I'm assuming that the 52C cores are on one physical die and the 46C cores are on another die. Does a 6+ C temp variance seem normal to you guys? I think it's possible that my AS5 application wasn't flawless, but I really don't want to pull the heatsink and check it...the heatsink would be very difficult to reinstall without pulling the motherboard.

BTW, I"m using a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme in a push-pull config. The CPU is at 3.15 @ 1.3v (1.25 Vdroop).

5c it's pretty normal, it varies from people to people.

I just checked again. Lowest core is 46C under load, highest is jumping between 52-54C. Thats an 8C spread.
If that's normal, I'm fine with it. My high temps seem alright, especially with an overclock, but if I can get all 4 down to the 46C range I just might break down and reseat the heatsink. Though, that'll be a huge pain in the rear end :bang head

Are you certain all cores are being used? What program are you stress testing it with? Other than that, I would think it's normal I also noticed quite a bit of difference on core temps. (I don't own one but I've been going looking up lots of benches on G0's and B3's).

PS Nice quad you got there :-D Hoping to pick up mine in a few weeks.

Thanks Sp33dball, just upgraded from an E6600. This thing's holding an OC just as high as my previous processor's max OC without even breaking a sweat  Although, I probably won't go any higher.

I'm using a 4 threaded instance of Prime95 to stress test. All 4 CPU's are at 100%. I tried Orthos, but it kept crashing when I tried to set the processor affinity under Vista64. Any ideas/stress testing program recommendations? I'm new to the quad core arena.
