I recently just purchased a new HDTV with a buddy of mine for use in our dorm next year. We decided on a Westinghouse Black 32" 16:9 8ms LCD HDTV LTV-32W6 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16889234016)

But I have one small issue and I'm not sure if it's the TV or some settings and hopefully someone can help me out.

At first, all I had was a VGA cable and it looks beautiful plugging in through VGA, but I know digital is a bit better and so I bought a DVI>HDMI cable to plug into the tv. I have tried every HD signal type output mixed with every resolution to try and get the screen to appear clearly, but the best digital signal I get doesn't even compare to the VGA. The text is blurry and slightly scrambled. Unfortunately I can't take a screenshot to explain exactly what I'm talking about because it only comes up this way on the display.

My main concern is that the laptop I just bought is only HDMI out and I was hoping to be able to use it as a media center on occasion but if the output looks like this, it won't be very possible.

I'm using Windows Vista x86 with a GeForce 7800 GS and the latest nVidia drivers. The same problem reoccured with a different cable and using a Mac Book Pro DVI output.

i have the exact same tv and i have a similar problem. however, my tv displays fine when set to 1366 x 768 but this is only when the tv is on for the first time. normally when i boot the pc and the tv is already on, it's fine. but when the pc is on and i shut the tv off, when i turn it back on, it looks a bit blurry. i have the resolution set to 1366x768 as instructed in the tv's manual. i found that if i change the resolution to 1280x720 then back to 1366x768 it is fine until i turn the tv off again... i pretty much have decided that it is the tv itself that causes this problem since it isn't a true 1080p hdtv. if i remember correctly, it just resizes 1080p to 720p (which seems odd since when my resolution is set to 720p, it doesn't look all that clear to me). it sorta sucks but what can you do...
