sound card in pcmcia slot

If i were to buy a sound card that uses my PCMCIA slot, would i be able to plug it in and take it out without turning off/ejecting the hardware? I would remove the sound card every time my laptop left my desk... which could be daily or every other day. Would this be a idea?

I couldn't see it harming it really, it's basically like taking a USB out,,, in school they had old laptops and people used to take the PCMCIA wireless cards out and put them back in without much trouble.

don't quote me on that though.
