So far, i've got my E2140 clocked at 363 x 8 = 2.9ghz with 1.3125v. Stock voltage is 1.325v. To just load windows w/ 3ghz (375 x 8) i need 1.325v. It wouldn't past 3 seconds in Orthos. I gave the fsb voltage a bump, +0.1v but it didn't help. It might be a heat wall, my load temps are 68 degrees. This is due to my Tuniq Tower120, which has lost a screw, i'll be getting a replacement screw on tuesday. However, the difference in temperature shouldn't be that noticeable so i don't think it is that. Is it time to bump the voltage?

A second question. If i do the 1066mhz padmod, would i be able to overclock higher w/ stock voltage? I know the mod is supposed to give me more headroom, but how about just keeping stock volts?

ohh. L2 revision. The exact stepping i have hidden somewhere. I can bring it out if you think it will help. I just remember someone else with my stepping doing 3.66ghz w/ 1.57v.

68C load...you could always try more voltage, 1.35V is the 'Max voltage' according to Intel so you've still got room within their standard allowance. But I'd say that with a load temp of 68C the temp will be holding you back, even though more is better maybe just be pleased with a CPU which cost ~$90 and is as fast as a stock $1k x6800 :)

Ok, just curious if that guy running on 3.66Ghz is on L2 or M0 stepping ?

I think you might check this thread (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=519106) about L2 and M0 stepping !

if it is the exact same stepping, it is L2. =P

It was 80 bucks CAN.

you might find there to be an fsb wall around 1600 too. my 2160 is perfectly fine at 1500 fsb *3374* but really doesnt like doing anything higher than 1540. at least not at the stock multi.
your definatly getting a little on the high side for heat though. i think i read somewhere here that L2's have a max of 61c? would seem right on the money. if either of my cores gets that high, it starts to fail orthos. Mine ran for 6 hours, but failed at that point to what i can only imagine was slow heat buildup. time to turn up the fans on my rad i guess.
