I need some memory recommendation for the following system.
CPU QX6850 watercooled and overclocked as much as possible.
MOBO ASUS p5k Deluxe
I will run Vista 64
Planning on getting either 2x2g or 4x2g sticks of DDR2 memory for which I can spend up to $600.

I was thinking of getting the mushkin 4GB (2x2gb)

According to the following website it uses midcon D9 chips.

Any other recommendations or thoughts?

Also, would the performance of my system decrease if I get 8GB instead of 4GB.

1) What are you planning to use the system for?
2) Does that use require you to have 4/8GBs?

If you are planning to game then go with 2GBs.
If you are planning to run tons of VMs, then go for 8GBs.

I'm not planning to game. I use my PC to run computationally intensive multithreaded programs (floating point calculations). Superpi type of things but using all four cores.
