This is the 3rd system in less then 1 year, that I had bought parts from NewEgg. I can say that NewEgg is the best, over and over again! Last incident resulted from a bad motherboard (Giga-byte).
Using Linux for the First time it took me awhile to realize that the problems that was occurring was a hardware issue. I started receiving RAID-1 warning's that the drives were out of sync, and were repairing. This eventually lead to failures in installations and other activities. So I figured I had a bad hard drive. I loaded Seagate drive utilities. I ran a partial disk check (long), and tried to finish a Zero-point format. Each time it would fail (no SMART events). I tried multiple drives, and failures again and again. So I loaded the drives in another Giga-byte Mobo (one I bought from NewEgg) and had a successful formate on two different drives.
So maybe it is the Memory. I turned on Memtest 97+ and let it run all night (a total of 23 times) with no failures. So I have a bad drive controller:( I contact new egg and they state that the 30 day replacement policy had expired. So I contact Giga-byte, and after spending 30 minutes on the phone with them, the concluded that it may or may not be the motherboard. I would have to send in my motherboard and receive another one in around 2 weeks. Ohh NO!
Frustrated, I sat playing WoW expecting to have a dust collector made by Lian-Lee. Finally around 8:00 at night I decided to contact NewEgg again. I was ready to buy a new motherboard just to save me the 2 week waiting period. Since there customer support phone was down, I had to contact them via text customer support. I talked to the person explaining to them why and what happens, and offered to compensate NewEgg for the trouble and the expiration of their 30 day return.
The Customer Support Rep told me that she/he had to check with their manager, and 2 minutes later came back telling me that they will take a return of the motherboard, with no cost to me!
Its not uncommon for New Egg to give me $15 credits due to late UPS shipments (UPS sucks). Over and Over again, problems arise and NewEgg is there working to fix my problems. With very few exceptions I dont buy from anyone but NewEgg. I encourage everyone I know to buy from them too. What an amazing company
No I don't work for NewEgg nor do I get paid from them, There is a NewEgg employee who has an account here, who responds to any issues published about a product or service. I am not them. If you doubt what I say, look at my post history, and you will see that I respond too and help out allot of people on these forums.
Thanks

I like them but there prices on some things can be outrageous. I still order tons of stuff from them but I bet they have lost a couple of $1000 in sales because of this in the past 2 years.

The egg was mainly 99.9% of my sales, however there shipping adventure kinda ruined that for me. I normal now purchase from directron.com as there shipping is better, and return customers get discount and there customers get free stuff and there customers can order simple stuff like ESD bags (uber cheap cause there from parts they used to build computers)

Newegg is pretty awesome. I ordered my PSU yesterday morning, it arrived today. On the cheapest shipping.
However my HD which they shipped from New Jersey to california for some reason, is taking a while to get here. Wish they told me, would have ordered another HD.

Shipping, UPS sucks... no questions asked... I get boxes that look like they have been run over by a train. My friends that work at UPS wont ship products using UPS, and they get a HUGE discount...
FedEx days were great... with that said... anytime I have had a damaged product or a potentially damaged product (box bent, etc) they refund me $15...
After weeks of triing to solve my problem with Highpoints 2300 and Linux (which doesnt support all new distro's) NewEgg decided to refund my money well past the 30 days. In addition, I am in negotiations with Highpoint to pay for NewEggs expenses, something they seemed to be willing to do... I will keep you updated.

Its actually much worse than that. If you order from Newegg, with a valid US credit card and even ship to a US address which is authorized through the credit card bank, but do it from a foreign IP address, they lock your account! This is after the order has gone through, your card is charged and the products shipped out. Not to mention an order history topping $10k in just over 3 years. What the heck is that?! To get your account unlocked you have to call in and they make you promise not to make any orders from a foreign IP again :bang head. Then they relocked the account again, eventhough I hadn't ordered anything, I just went in to check my order history. Obviously, I no longer buy from newegg.

Obviously the OPEN BOX costs more because they already pre-opened it for you, saving you the work. =)
Anyway, Newegg has lost some of my business...thanks to their warehouse in NJ and adding tax to their cost and the fact they no longer have the free fedex shipping anymore. However, if I need something fast and willing to pay a little extra to get it...I still goto them.

UPS doesn't give discounts to its employees. And I would rather have UPS then DHL.

Yesterday I spoke with someone at NewEgg about returning a soundcard that just didn't seem to work with the motherboard I wanted to use it with (it was the second of the same kind of card I had tried). The rep credited me the amount I paid for the card, and he also let me KEEP the card, even though there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it! Every time I deal with them I am very impressed.

What the crap! That would really allow people to take advantage. Was it cheap at least? Not an X-Fi or anything?
I ordered a 30 dollar headset 3:40 pm, added rush processing hoping they would ship it but no luck :(

To late in the day. You would use that if tis like 1 to 2 o'clock and they would push it up front to make sure its shipped that day.

yeah, if the product is below a certain cost, they do not require you to send it back. Sure you can abuse it a few times... eventually I am sure they will suspend your account
As for the individual making purchases overseas, In my experience with setting up credit card online stores I can totally understand. My experience is that the story is responsible for any disputes or any fraud that occurs due to credit card transactions.
I'm sure if you continue to talk to them they will change there position based on your order history. Sometimes you have to contact them a few times to get the desired requirement. If you point them to this thread (they have a NewEgg representative that is on this site), they often take action.
With that said, Im off to buy something from new egg. Enjoy!

Wow...
Went to NewEgg yesterday for http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16822148136
and they raised there price by $10, to 129.99! I was discuraged so I contacted their Customer Service... I was buying 5 drives and they offered me $25 credit on the purchase...
Frustrated, I went to Directron as the individual above recommended them and stated he was happy with them. Directron wanted me to fax ID to them to verify that I existed...
Talk about a screwed up plan...
So I go back to NewEgg to get the item and the item is back to $119.99!
Guess there triing to squeze out as much profit as they could, until they find out that there loyal customers will go somewhere else, and they loose money. With such a huge customer base, they should be more carefull about their pricing and shipping.
