Witch one of these vid cards will be the best buy for a p3 1Ghz system with an cusl2-c mainboard i815EP:

- Asus Pure V8200 Ti 500
- Elsa Gladiac Ti 500
- Creative 3D Blaster Ti500
- MSI Ti 500 Pro (almost the same card has creative)
- Leadtek Winfast Ti 500

Tks, guys

I would go Leadtek, MSI then Elsa.

But heck why don;t you just buy an 8500 for $100 less and get better performance anyways?

why do i get the distinct feeling that there's gonna be mock ATI sales reps at every forum i visit.

I saw a guy say "I'm getting a GeForce 3 Ti500 I will not buy ATI because they killed my family and I have proof. I hope they all wrot in hell, oh yeah and which Ti 500 should i get"

someone would respond "sorry to hear about you're family man, but why don't you get an 8500 and save some $$?"

oh well, i guess freedom to make your own desicions is out this year.

sorry i'm going on about this...but ATI killed my family and I'm just looking for retribution in my own petty way.

I'm waiting for A-bits Siluro Ti500 to come out (comes w/ black pcb board!!! ). Ati looks good now, but when the new games come out that use the Nvida's programable FX chip you'll be wishing you got a GF3. Plus I hear Ati's 8500's cheat by not rendering the graphics right.

eh?

Well if he did get the ATI is definitely wouldn't see any performance gains... Ati is crap right now and there was a artical on the front page about how ati made the card just to get the numbers and not actual performance

Personally, I'd get the Elsa for it's image quality. (6 year warranty) It may not be the cheapest, but quality is definately worth the few extra bucks.
I'd have the Elsa right now if it were available in the US:( I had to settle for the Gainward G3 Ti/550

elsa might not be such a great buy right now, they are gettting out of the graphics board market for the consumers, and sticking with professional development now. they've completely removed their stocks from the US and are expected to sell the remainder of the stuff worldwide and not produce any more. just a thought.

as far as my choice, i'd go visiontek or leadtek, gainward is ok. the visiontek has the best cooling solution, while the leadtek has the worst, but if it's my card i'll be changing that anyhow so it's moot. there is not a bit of difference in image quality between any of the ti500's I've seen, which includes almost all the brands out there. they're all reference boards with a few minor changes, all RF filters and video circuitry are exactly the same components in all the boards i've seen.
