I've been seriously considering buying a block for my northbridge for the following reasons:
1. I have and AMD and I only OC the FSB, so it would make my NB hotter
2. My NB is F'n hot
but is it really worth the upgrade, I was looking at a Swiftech MCW30 (link:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835108079)
Any suggestions or reviews on NB cooling or blocks would be apprieciated.

Does the northbridge have a heatsink on it?
If it does, put a fan on it.
If not, get a heatsink on it!
I don't think these things put out enough heat to warrent watercooling.
You won't see much love, here, towards northbridge coolers. Either way swiftech block is good.

my NB has got a heatsink with a fan on it, but since its an AMD its the only thing I can really overclock. Ive already gone 50mhz over, but I think it will greatly change after I put a block on it.
(its too hot to touch right now...)

(its too hot to touch right now...)O.o The heatsink shouldn't be that hot, how much air is this fan pushing? I have a 120mm fan sitting on my video card cooling RAM and NB from a distance and both stay almost room temp. Is there dust in the fan/heatsink?
I'm not familiar with AMD boards, so I don't know if they normally run that hot.

its an epox 754 mobo (like an mp800 or somthing....(i dont feel like looking it up, i will if you want), but the fan on it is about 40mm, and its about a centimeter deep (heatsink and all). Ive got on 80mm blowing in from the side of the case, but it doenst seem like it would be enough, but at the same time, its overclocked pretty high becasuse its an amd thats non-FX series, so all i can OC is the fsb, and 50mhz is pretty high (my 3000+ is 500mhz OC's)

its an epox wp-8npa SLI, with two cards, and its stock is 200 mhz, and im running at 250. its a 3000+ clawhammer or newcastle. Also, it looks like youre running an intel, which doesnt act the same on the fsb if i remember right (correct me if im wrong).

My Chipset gets a bit toasty running 324mhz threw it, but I got a Thermalright HR-05 (I think) and it hasent seen anything over 43°C since.....
Technically, the NB is on the CPU, the chipset on the motherboard, I do believe is like the south bridge, someone correct me if I am wrong.....

Works great, it is right under the opening for my 8800, so it draws ait threw it, and no need for a fan.....

it looks fine, and im sure its great, but for the same price i could buy a block for it, which is why I came on here to ask. Is it really recomended to go with Air when I WC for maybe $5 more?

In Short YES..That Thermalright HS or the vertical one is awesome for these NB's and it saves complications of plumbing and restriction and heat load on your WC system.

well here's my setup right now, I dont have the best air, and It seems like it would make more sense to put somthing that's important to my OC'ing on WC right? Besides, i dont know if i have room for that sink in my case, my NB is right next to my sli set up
