Been Out Of Commision for 24Hrs

Had a nightmare couple of days, first my PC had a problem. Took me about 6Hrs to realise that it was a faulty IDE cable. Then I gave away the second cruncher I was building., only a 350 PII. My friends girl friend bought a secondhand PC, I spent about 5Hrs trying to get the soundcard to work. Worked on mine dead in hers, so while I worked on it, my machine was in pieces. For some reason her mobo would not accept a sound card (Compaq need I say more).

Out of the Christmas spirit, her children now have a PII 350 with 64Mb PC133, 1.5Gb drive space and a 16Mb AGP Vanta graphics card:) . Bit different from a P166 with 1GB HD and 2Mb Graphics. Sorry Seti, but I felt sorry for the kiddies;) . I will be build a second cruncher soon, promise.

That was very kringle esque of you, sorry to hear of the woes, you know that old dog will run seti, perhaps ask if you can put her old comp to good use? :) Just a thought and at least a return on the investment, well aside from making some children smile.

You should ask her to run SETI in the background of that donated machine and let you run it on the "old" one as well.
