Some from the small vendors and ASUS and GIGABYTE have also got some faulty chips it's a BIOS problem which could be done at home but they want them called back in house to be fixed.

As ALWAYS take everything from the inquirer with a BIG grain of salt. Maybe more than one.

Don't doubt it. There was other places that had this as well posted yesterday. 20-30k cards bios's where bad. Something dealing with the testing hardware failed to see that it was bad. All that needed to be done is a reflash of the bios and it back in working order.
But some where bad where you can't get past the bios screen so flashing it at home was out of the question.
AMD just cant catch a break. If it turns out to be more widespread its gonna cost.

Meh, I wouldn't worry about it. Remember the 8800's that had some faulty parts as well? Came and went.

If it's just the BIOS that's not much of a problem, all they have to do is give people a flasher or send it in to be flashed.
A hardware problem could pose a much bigger issue...

It's not a bad bios chip. It's a bad bios image flashed to the bios. All they have to do is reflash.
