I recieved an OEM Q6700 that I bought from a reseller on the net and It has Intel Confidential ES on the heat spreader. Why? am i lucky or something? :confused:

ES stands for enginering sample these are not ment to be sold. But should clock well.

FYI,

I bought OEM at atacom.com for $459 (reasonable) if some of you interested in ES.

Edit:
Crap!! I just checked and it just went up to $489

Not a bad price at all for an ES, I bought my Q6600 yesterday otherwise I would have strongly considered it...not complaining though my quad will be G0:)

ES doesn't always mean it will OC better though. They may have been tested and pushed to no end, thats what they were intended for. Some may actually OC less while others may OC extremely well but of course you will only hear about those that have OCed very well. I would be wary of buying an ES especially for that much money.
