Well, it's now 2 days late... going on the third one, I called them up, complained, and they said they screwed up and would try to get it back around to me asap.

This is really weird since austin is only 6-7 hours from my house, then it goes a few states away after already going through the local hub.

Sounds about right from my experiences with DHL. Either they do great and everything is delivered promptly or they completely screw up and it takes forever or they have to get the part re-sent. Hopefully it isn't the latter case for ya. Good luck!

my experience with DHL and Apple Customer Service in replacing a broken ipod was nothing short of extraordinatory. Other than that, I've heard plenty of bad things regarding DHL shipping :-/

I've heard that ALL FedEx overnight packages are routed through a central facility (I think it's also Memphis). So even if you are delivering next door, it's routed through there.

That's probably only for the overnight stuff though.

DHL delivered a package to me which had ("had" being the operative word here) a motherboard and processor. It was delivered with half the box flattened where it was once about 4 inches high, was now abut 1 inch tall...the motherboard and utilities CD was literally in pieces. The box looked like it had been run over by one of their trucks...that is not an exageration in any way...it was that bad!

They left it with the receptionist and didn't even bother to discuss it or anything...needless to say, I called them back and opened the package in front of them and let the pieces hit the floor...just to make my point.

I couldn't believe that they actually thought anyone was going to accept it in the condition that they delivered it.

I would personally never request their service, but unfortunately, am sometimes force to accept their deliveries.

They are the only carrier that I have strong opinions about, hence my post.

Well the was that my package was ground, the hub in memphis is supposedly only air, she said there was no reason for my package to be their as it was ground only. So, idk, but I got it yesterday, all four of my beautiful Seagate147GB 15k rpm SAS Cheetah drive.... w00ts!

DHL is a way better International company then it is domestic. They will never catch up to UPS and FedEx.

Dell's screw up on price, DHL's screw up on shipping... they all suck, only some mistakes make me happier than others...

I've only had 1 personal item delivered from them...a camcorder and they stupidly came here and didnt ring any doorbells even though my motherinlaw was home all day.

Called em and they said there was a good chance of them trying again the same night. Didnt get my hopes up and it didnt come until the next night really late.

We just made an account with them at my work. Think its because they are the cheapest.

I like DHL. I've received several packages from them including glass and all arrived intact, I guess it's just the sheer size of the US compared to the UK :P

They do seem like a OK company, I was just angry with their incredibly stupid routing error, yes mistakes do happen, but they shouldn't, not when I'm paying good money to get it to me on time.
