CoreTemp causes my video to shut off....

I don't know what it is, sometimes I run CoreTemp and it works fine, tells me my cpu is at 21C, and sometimes it just turns off my video. By that I mean the monitor status light goes from green to yellow like when the PC is off. The PC is still on, I can still hear the fans and everything...I tried everything but the only way to get out of the "video shutdown" is to power off and restart...it happens maybe around 40% of the time I run coretemp.
I have no clue what it could be....
I have the latest drivers for everything, newest bios, and newest coretemp build(not beta)
