volume of the noise?

I am looking at getting a new rig this month and getting rid of my old rig which holds a 6800GT and AMD 3400+

My old graphics card can play Wow with about 40 FPS but is SCREEMS and is so bloody loud in 3d mode. Also the whole PC just is too loud and releases a lot of heat. I am thingking of water cooling on the next pc, but that costs a bit of money that I would rather invest elsewhere.

Anyway, the question is how loud is the new 8800GTX card or the 8800GTS card? Are they really just as loud as the old 6800GT cards?

I am trying to go for a silent PC if possible.

Nope the 8800GTS/GTX both are pretty quiet and at stock the fans operate at 50% so you can hardly hear it running, even at 100% you can hear it but will not be as loud as the 6800GT coolers. If you are upgrading to a 8800GTS make sure your CPU is fast enough so it will not bottleneck.
