Hi guys!
I need some help.
My work PC is suffering a little. Current Specs:
Intel Pentium 4 2.8Ghz
1Gb RAM
80Gb HDD
Windows 200 SP4
Just recently, when I boot the computer up, everything is fine and all programs work, no problems, but when I connect to the internet the computer slows to a halt and sometimes freezes. When I check task manager, explorer.exe is using 99% CPU and nothing else will run. If I close explorer before connecting to the net, everything is fine. If I open explorer whilst the internet is connected, the same happens.
I currently have a netgear DG834 router and I have Norton Internet Security 2006 running. I have done full virus scans with the updated definitions, and nothin is found. Firewall blocks everything unless I authorise, so I can't understand whats happening.
My last resort is format and reinstall, but I would like to avoid that at all costs as some of the software on the PC is a little difficult to get reinstalled.
Anyone got any suggestions?
P.S. Here's my HijackThis Log:
