Whats the difference between these? I just got htis from www.crucial.com .....

$64.79 - 256MB - DDR PC2100 • CL=2.5 • Unbuffered • ECC • 2.5V • 32Meg x 72

$68.39 - 256MB - DDR PC2100 • CL=2.5 • Registered • ECC • 2.5V • 32Meg x 72

Which one is better for O/C?

Which one is better for O/C?

OK Here's what I think.

The first is only 32mebx64, the second and third are 32mbx72.

The 3rd one is registered.

The second and third ones are ECC.

So basically there are the differences.

I believe the third one is the best for overclocking because its registered and ECC.

And its faster than the 32mb x 64 while this one is 32mb x 72..

nope, the normal ones should oc better, ECC is for stability and is used in servers and the like.....but for 8 dollarsmore its a nice feautre, just make sure your mobo supports it...

actually some motherboards with 4,(or more) dimms require the ram to be registered in order for all 4 dimms to work, as for overclocking I would guess the first one, but don't really know.

ECC is horrible for O/C. You will loose 20% in performance. ECC will work in most M/B. The bottom 2 on your list is the same. I would buy the standard PC2100 or PC2400 or get a stick of PC2700 and wait for a board to support it.
