Ok, I am going to purchase ONE of these cards, but I dont know which is best.

320mb: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130040
640mb: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130071

Compare: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380048%2050001402%20106791921%201067924922&bop=And&CompareItemList=N82E16814130040%2CN82E16814130071
(Don't know if that works)

But basically the differences:

CORE SPEED:
320mb- 588mhz
640mb - 500mhz

MEMORY CLOCK:
320- 1840 MHz (effective)
640- 1600MHz(effective)

And then the obvious memory different.

This is going to be for a quad core Q6600 g0 stepping with asus motherboard, good ram, etc.
It will be with ONE ACER 22" monitor, and will be used for a lot of gaming. Mostly world of warcraft, battlefield, tfc, porn.

Which is best? They are around the same price. Thanks!

I would go with the 640mb, especially if you're going to be playing in higher resolutions (which, I would hope you would be with a nice 22" monitor). 320mb is going to be the new minimum requirement for any decent game in DX10, really. Plus, you can always overclock the core up a little on the 640mb model to make up for the difference.

I'll let you know how the 320mb fairs against the 8800GTX 768mb in a couple of days in wow. Would tell you now but UPS lost my first one, so another will be here friday..ish. But imo for WoW, 320 should be more than enough, the game is weak on graphics.

what exactly does the core speed and memory clock mean? Is double the memory more important than those 2 combined? heh

I think core speed is how fast all the objects are translated, lighted, etc. Memory speed determines how fast objects are textured and whatnot. Feel free to correct me on that, but I thought that was the case.

For current games - WoW and such - yes, the 320mb is better because of the faster default speeds. For future games (DX10 - ex: Crysis), the 640mb would do you much more justice.

Gaming at 1680x1050 or higher resolutions benefits a great deal more from increased memory than faster core/memory speeds, e.g. more game textures can be loaded (with upcoming DX10 games, you will regret going for lesser GPU memory if you game at a higher res.)
