i have an AMDXP-1700
It is locked
does that mean i can only use multiplier 11?
or could i use say 10? or 8.5 or 12? or would i need to unlock it to move the multiplier

I know multipliers are fun but what can you run your system at with just fsb overclocking? You probably don't need a higher multiplier but it may be fun to try lower multiplier and raise the fsb.

Actually, its mush better to use a cobination of FSB & multipliers to get the best and highest overclock ypu can.

Im currently running one of my athlonXP' OC to 1.752 with 146 mhz fsb and a 12 mutiplier after a succesful unlocking of the bridges!!!

My other rigg is running at 1.606 Ghz and is only overclocked using the fsb to 146 mhz.... but thats casue i screwed up the unlocking job, beware of the difficulty of unlocking the bridges!!!!!!!!!!
I must have tried a dozen ways to nlock the brdges and found that using a micro tipped conductive pen is the best and quickess and not to mention the least messiest! :)
