new audigy wont work right

my 5.1 audigy locks up every time i try to interact with its features. this comes just after a fresh install of win98. whats the deal. i have already updated the motherboard.

I had/have the problem too....either locks up the system (very rare tho) or I lose sound completely (quiet often).

Poor suggestion, but you may try to leave the nifty features alone for now, untill a patch or new drivers are released. I was able to set the bare minimum settings, but can't play with the demo's or anything. It was horrible untill I did a new install, but didn't improve everything after the format. They'll surely release new drivers/software soon, as I've seen MANY complaints on the same thing.
