That guy is basically just about the whole OC AU team. When his production goes down, we start catching up a little bit. BTW, I went ahead and installed the client on my Dell laptop just a few minutes ago. That will give me 3 machines of 1000 mhz or better folding for team 32. I can at least be folding with all 3 when I'm in from work and when I go out offshore, I still leave the P3 desktop on as it will automatically dial out when the client needs to send completed WU's in and get new ones. I did this the last time I went to work and it worked fine, moved me up from about 175 on the list to the mid 120's.

It is kinda neat that it will sign itself on to update. Now if they could only get it to sing off after it bownloads a new job so my other machines could have the line this would be completely automated.
Oh well.

Yes, I wish I could get my t-bird system to do this too. The Intel system is still running Win98 SE and the t-bird is running Win2K; I guess that it has something to do with the way it's set up. I have the Intel box's dialup set to automatically disconnect after 15 minutes of inactivity, so it will hang itself up after the data is transferred back and forth.

Hey I gotta look into this. That would solve some problems for me.

Well, I've got 4 machines and they all seem to be different. My main box (Frankenstein) will sign on by itself but wouldn't sign off. I can't even chose the option on the connection screen.
Mut (that would be the #2 box) is set to sign off automatically but as I found out this morning, will not sign on by itself.
My wifes machine is set to sign off but I'll have to wait about 9 hours to see if it will sign on.
The Brats machine is online 24/7, so I don't need to wory 'bout it.
We'll see.

I just set up two machines at work to dialup and disconnect. Heres what I did and so far they work great. Goto
Control Panel> Internet Options> Connections
Click "Always Connect"
Highlight default connection then click "setting"
Click last (right most) tab
set Retry to 10 and Interval to 60 seconds
set disconnect to 3 minutes or whatever works for you
Check the box "Do not ask to disconnect".
That should fix your dialup disconnect issues.

For anyone running a few systems behind a modem you might want to look at http://www.freesco.org It is not hard to set up and you can use an old 486/33 or so as a internet router that will autodial and connect when any system needs work. Its not the best for cable or DSL but it really works great for dialup accounts. Might want to give it a look.

Are those comps running W2Kpro?
I use 2kpro on my machines but the dialup password is always saved as some 16 digit sucurity pass so each time I try to dialup I have to enter the correct password so you could see the problem. Anyone know how to fix this problem with 2Kpro?

It worked on the celery but not my p3 and I missed 10 hours of folding time:( Settings are the same under connections. The only difference that I can think of is the celery is running win98 and the p3 is win98se. If I double click a browser it automatically dials out though. Both clients are the same version. S^1$ this will eat at me until I figure it out.

Hey BigBlockk,
I had one 98 pc not autodialing too. I changed the default web browser to IE and its worked once so far. You might wanna check what of IE is on that one pc where you don't have tht option to sign off. Hope this helps.
