From what I have read:

MCX462 - best but pricey
8045 - second best but still a little pricey
sk6 - popular here
galciator II- Not as good as the first two (4c) but quite, cheap, copper and heavy.

Try reading reviews on it.

Usually the rigs that they use to test the heastink on are around 1 gig and overclocked so that will give you an idea as well as they have summaries.

I have a cck 6035 on my 1.4 t-bird 266fsb, which is overclocked at 1.53 mhz.

I live in a hot and muggy climate and do not have A/C. I idle around 44c and under load go up to about 51c. This is with my room temp averaging 28c.

I must mention to you that I have installed a couple of fans to increase the airflow. I have 2 sunon 80mm blowing in the front, 2 delta 80mm blowing out the back, a delta 120mm blowing over the heatsink itself...damn it's loud when everything is on full. I have built my own rheostats to control the delta 80mms and the delta 120mm.

However, if you got the money, time (for installation) and knowledge, I would look at the Alpha 8045. It was not out when I bought this vantec and I am seriously considering it now.
