I know there a threads like this one time and time again. So lets see what you have, if photo manipulation, included the original so we can see what you have done. If abstract show us different phases of your work.

I'll post some tomorrow when I have sometime, I will hold the 2 following posts for my self.

I am by no means brilliant at this application. However i have taken a semester of photoshop instruction while I was in college. I feel i have been able to pick up a good amount through online tutorials and messing around. It gets the job done for flyer and graphic work required by my job position of Communications Specialist for our local school district.

This example i am sharing I created about 4 months ago for a Battlefield 2 community website i was heavily a part of.

First, started with black background with a picture of a flag i have enhanced color and contrast.

Following is a BF2 Pic on the left, deleting the edges to show the black background with an grunge brush.

Then the right picture which has also been enhanced color and contrast wise for impact.

Then enhancements including a mild pixelation as well as an additional flag overlay to highlight certain parts a little more.

Then the final product with the text added.

Well, I found this picture on Google images:

As you can see, it's not the best image quality out there. So I touched it up a bit.

Of course, it's not perfect, but the noise is gone and most of the details are preserved.
