View Full Version : What if...
you had the best heatsink (what is the best heatsink at the moment by the way? the swiftech mcx 462?) and it was made of CVD Diamond, what would it's c/w be? or for that matter, what would the c/w be of a watercooling system using a waterblock made of cvd diamond.

Problem with CVD Diamond as a waterblock is first the cost followed closely by the fact that it is full of ridges and valleys and is a problomatic surface material.
But hey I read about a guy that had a few thermal pads made up of that stuff and he paid a small fortune only to have one of them break even before he applied it, and he had to add a product like arctic silver to componsate for the ridges and valleys as crushed diamonds just aren't a flat surface no matter how finely ground they are. :(
I'm aware of the cost, it's a hypothetical question
One of them broke?! I thought diamond was one the hardest materials there is, or is this because it is CVD diamond?
oh yeah. let's add cucil to the mix
