I have 2 computers now and want to turn the old one into a small win xp box that just sits in the corner and is used for miscellaneous stuff - but is not really connected to a monitor or keyboard.

I have looked at VNC so I can remotely control the computer, but that is only a 30 day free trial. Is there a free remote control program that I can use?

Huh ? I thought VNC is freeware ? No longer ?

Here, one of my favourite VNC flavour -> Tight VNC, yes, there are so many VNC flavours out there. :)

Plenty of VNC client and server software out there.

TightVNC and RealVNC are also amongst my favorites, where RealVNC offers commercial enterprise editions with added features. But apart from that they're all free to go.

See VNC on wikipedia also for further reference.

Be sure to check out and set passwords accordingly..

Cheers, Flix
