I have 2gb of Crucial Ballistix DDR2-1066 ram

Right now my system is using a FSB of 425, so my ram is only running at a speed of DDR2-850 at CAS4 timings.

Would it be a good idea to use a cpu/memory divider and run my ram at a higher speed, or would this result in lower performance since most people recommend cpu and ram to use 1:1 ratio?

the next available speed would be 2.66x425=1130MHz. you would have to ease up on timings and up the voltage, but it depends on if the RAM can do that speed. I would say there is certainly a boost from 850 to 1130 that would help performance!

I would do it!
