Here is the current situation at the SETI@home project.

1.-We are currently the team number 45.
2.-At our current output (around 1500 WU/day) we will be reaching 42 in 2 or 3 days.
3.-Team Picard dropped to position 50. They lost around 12,000 WU. This might be because one of his memebers was expelled from the team. This funny guy keeps coming into the team but after 3 or 4 weeks he makes some revolution into the team, that causes his expulsion. After some weeks he joins with another nickname and the history begins anew.
4.-The frogz keep coming. Latest interception date: 6/January/2002.....At 3000 WU/day we seem to be powerless to change this :(.

Keep those WU comming, when we break the 500,000 milestone we will be in the 35th position.

Well, good news with bad. Not to bad overall though. :)

I've been watching the AMD mobo team for a while. It appears as though they have two members that must be running the client in a very large corporate environment. There's no other way to turn out 700 units per day. Curiously two separate members are both turning out the exact same 700 units per day - down to the last digit. Those two members alone almost equal our entire daily output. However I've also noted that many of their top members have days where they turn in nothing, and it doesn't appear to be because they're waiting to upload units. Basically sporadic membership participation. But at any rate there doesn't appear to be much we can do about it right now. I suppose we'll have to be at the top of the pack along with them.

good to hear that we r hitting #42 in the next couple days.

bad to hear that we will be get past by athlonmb.com in a very near future too:(

it IS unbelieveable to turn in 700WU/day!! those 2 members gotta own/operate a large cooperative?!! seeing Benz's around 100WU/day is impressive already. seeing those 2 guys/gals 700WU/day is UNREAL!!

even if all XP1800+/1900+, i guess it still needs AT LEAST 'bout a hundred or so machines in order to do that!! i guess his/hers SETI farm could also double as a "rendering farm"!!

now, i feel soooooo embrassed to even show my little "SETI garden"...:eh?:

Considering the fact we don't have any "super crunchers" on this team I'd say it's almost a tribute to us that we continue to rise like we do. I'd consider this a relatively small team compared to the competition we pass on a weekly basis.

Our actual active base is only about 5/8 to 3/4 of our total team membership and we continue to wipe out household names on a regular basis...very impressive.

It's sad when it happens but we've proven it's more than possible to recover when losing one of our top producers...if that were to happen to them, or any other team with one, it would be more than disastrous.

I'd have to say I'm on the greatest SETI team there is...we may not be a sportscar but we get damn good mileage. I'd say that will prove to be more in the end.

On a bit more of a sad note, I believe my old Tyan bit the dust a couple days ago. Noticed via SETIQueue it was late in transmitting and couldn't remotely connect to it to check on it...it had blue screened and has since refused to go past POSTing. It was ultimately going to be replaced by the dual AMD MP rig I'm putting together by the middle of next month but was hoping it would last til then. 3 WUs a day isn't much but it's better than none. I'm going to try tomorrow before work, one last time, to see if I can get it running again but it looks slim to none in its chances.

Big salute to a rising army and my little fallen soldier...(Dramatic eh? Haha). Crunch on!!!

Very well said Jon! We are growing and our members are working very had to improve their herds. We should all be very proud of our individual contributions and our team spirit and conduct here on the board. We have been known to help members from other teams or loners, not all teams would do that. :)

totally agree!! :)

even tho we don't have any of those "super-cruncher" here; however, every little bit of our effort added together is strong enough, and to be proud of to be a team member in here!!!:) ;) :D

i guess our "near term" goal is to expand our "active cruncher base" in the team..........

keep crunching on guys/gals!!

I always have said that we are one of the best "club" SETI teams.....we are aproaching the really big corporate farms:

33) Oracle 554,997 WU
25) Unisys 717,723 WU (added to the challenge graph)
23) Apple Computer Inc. 799,246 WU

This team are likely to be eating our dust somewhere between next August..... If you check the top 200 of clubs you can see that we are currently the 28th.....so keep those farms well watered, we are currently reaching a point were every little push we can give to our daily output is becoming more necesary to keep up.

Team AMDMB.com has two main crunchers.....both producing more WU that many top 50 teams!!!!! So, if they pass us, let's at least give them a run for they money.....

On a side note, reaching the top 100 in this team has become a very tough endeavour.....I'm been bouncing up and down from the 102 to the 106 place with all those farms pasing me by.....
