I'm have the Golden Sample version (listed in my sig). The defaults are 175/400... It can go a lot higher... like around 240/500 is the highest I've heard of... great card. The 2D is beautiful and it blows benches away in comparison with my old Voodoo 5 5500... heck it just plain blows them away:p

I hear alotta bout oc'in graphix cards. I assume this is with stock cooling (if not please correct me)

I think i'll have to pick up a gainward, i've heard nothing but good things about them :)

Good card you will be happy if it is the G3 Ti200 not the G2 Ti200 (which is really a renamed Geforce 2 pro, still a good card though)

yep overclock your card but generally you get better results by adding ASII with ramsinks and replacing the lame heatsink/fans that come stock. Cheapest and best alternative is a Crystal Orb

well, i have some ASII i have yet to put on my athlon. how would i get the ramsinks off...i heard they are glued on?...I am basically looking for tips/tricks to better my ramsink/hsf performance without actually buying new equipment (does gainward give you a temperature monitor...if not where can i get one for my vid. card)

thanx!!

either get your card really hot(hour of Unreal/QuakeIII:)) or realy cold(freezer in antistatic bag) and pry it off with your hands, some people will say use a screwdriver but many have messed up their video cards doignt hsi...

Where are you getting this card? If your ordering online I suggest Newegg.com... they have the Golden Sample (Warranty covers overclocking) $177 after s&h... has ramsinks and really good hsf for the gpu;)Here's their pictures http://www.newegg.com/app/Showimage.asp?image=14-128-111-01.JPG/14-128-111-02.JPG/14-128-111-03.JPG/14-128-111-04.JPG/14-128-111-05.JPG

According to gainward's site...they don't make a golden sample ti200/450. newegg has the image with a golden sample sticker on it...soo...what's the deal? the product link newegg gives shows a box w/no sticker on it....HMMMMMMMM

Seems odd I'm sure... but it is infact a Golden Sample... just got mine last monday... I ordered it from Newegg.com... even questioned them on the phone about that, but I was reassured and can now see for myself;) I believe opengl 1.2 is the latest so yes that's good... all opengl games and benches work great on mine.

well...thank you very much for your input...you've sold me...gonna order it later tonite..put the 'ol 2mx in my p2-400 machine and maybe do some ghost recon...lan-style :) I am also going to pick up a blue orb (blorb?) as i may overclock beyond what my card likes...also, i currently have a standard size tube of ASII, think that is enough to use on my cpu, and gpu? thanx!! woo...gf3 here i come (FINALLY)

The US Gainward site isn't very complete. The site didn't have(may now) my non-Golden Sample Geforce3 Ti/550 on it, only the Golden Sample versions.
My card overclocks very well. Had it up to 270/602 in 3DMark2k1.
Contacting tech support really sucks. I never got a reply in 1 1/2 months of e-mails:mad:
Your card should be top notch :D
