nah its not stock, I bought the alpha pal cause it was the best for the p3 at the time, or something. But I am wondering if I can use it on my xp 1900. Defitnely not a stock heatsink

Sorry can't help, the thing is I don't pay attention to heatsinks so don't know which one is good. I'd been running water ever since I put together my system.
If you try the heatsink you got, just make sure you check the CPU temp occassionally.

that Alpha is a pal 6045 and will do the job as long as ya have a good retaining clip...................I bought mine 2 years ago, with a 56 watt pelt for a celeron 500 socket 370 chip that wouldn't OC for sh*t..............granted it's no cooling monster like it's big brother the Pal 8045, but it's better than some $4.95 generic chrappo from china ...................but I would Really get something better though

The 68 cfm delta isn't nearly as annoying as the 38 cfm Delta black label fans. It has more or an air-rushing sound than a turbine-like whine. It's no 2000 rpm, no-hear, wimp fan but it's tolerable. I was using a 120 mm sunon blowhole fan that was a lot noisier than the delta until I replaced it with a 84 cfm panaflo in the blowhole because of the noise.

You might not be able to get the best overclock, but it's not going to kill your chip if you run with it on there. Probably better than the stock AMD hsf.

i hards somewhere that the pal 6045 has small feet to stop the heatsink for moving, take these of and use a shim

Dude i overclocked 155 mhz with my stock fan, and im runnin at 108-113
.....
3 Case fans, antec case.
1600 xp @ 1800 xp
1400 @ 1555
...
Oh and yeah
If the heatsink fits. Sure man, I'd take a coupple of practice's before i put it on.. If it's over 5k rpms, im runnin my amd fan at 4660 rpm's, run's great.
Just take the fan off that other heatsink, and put it on the amd Heatsink.. if its 5k rpm + Then, there's your answer.. Or i'd go buy a dragon orb 3, or a 7k rpm heatsink (Delta) ....There 7 dollar's off newegg, i believe shipping is 3-5 dollar's.. That'd be your best bet.. May be a little noisy... But..
If you got a window kit, that dragonorb would look awesome.
